Beginner’s Guide To CBD

If you are new to the CBD world, it is easy to get confused about what CBD oil or products you should use, how to use them, and so much more. Plus, having so many options available can seem overwhelming. But don’t worry; we are here to help you get started on your personal CBD journey!

If you are interested in trying CBD and seeing how it works for you, it is important to acknowledge that CBD works differently for everyone; what a friend or stranger might experience could be different from your own experiences. It may take some time or experimenting before you find the right product or dosage, but we are confident that CBD can help you live a healthier life.

With that said, let’s jump into what you need to start your CBD journey.

Decide What Type of CBD Oil You Want To Use

When you start researching CBD oil, you may find that there are a lot of different types of oil to choose from. There are several different technical terms and names used, and it can be difficult to know what those mean, let alone figure out which type of oil is right for you.

When it comes to choosing a CBD oil, there are two things you want to keep in mind: what THC content do you want your oil to have; and do you want broad spectrum, full spectrum, or isolate oil?

The legal amount of THC that you can have in CBD oil is .03%; the oil you use should contain this amount of THC or less. This amount is so minimal that you will not experience any of the psychoactive effects of THC. However, if you have concerns about using products that contain THC, some oils are labeled as having zero THC. It is important to note that some beneficial terpenes and cannabinoids may have also been removed from an oil that had THC removed. Hemp plants contain some amount of THC, however trace they may be, and removing TCH from the oil may result in the removal of additional compounds that could benefit your health.

Full spectrum CBD oil is pure, extracted CBD oil from the hemp plant. It contains CBD as well as other nutrient-rich cannabinoids, terpenes, fatty acids, and other compounds. Keeping all these natural compounds together creates an Entourage Effect, which allows the compounds to work better together than they would on their own. Broad spectrum CBD is the same as full spectrum, except it contains zero THC. Isolate CBD oil is simply 100% isolated, pure CBD; there are no additional terpenes, flavonoids, or other compounds.

How To Take CBD Oil

CBD oil is typically made for consumption. What you need to decide is how exactly you want to do that. There are several ways that you can consume your CBD oil:

  • Simply put your dose of CBD under your tongue. Hold it there for 30 to 60 seconds, then swallow.
  • Add your dose of CBD to your cup of morning or evening tea, or other beverages.
  • Add your dose of CBD to a recipe, and eat up! Try out this recipe for Chocolate CBD Truffles or Green CBD Smoothies!

Holding CBD oil under your tongue before consumption is great for getting the CBD into your bloodstream via the blood vessels in your mouth. If you are looking for faster relief, try this method. Consuming CBD oil without holding it under your tongue will still work just as great; it may just take a little longer before you feel the effects, as it has to go through the digestive process before entering the bloodstream.

Picking The Right CBD Company

This is perhaps the most important part of choosing a CBD oil. Because CBD has flooded the market, there are seemingly countless companies that say they offer the best stuff. It is absolutely essential that you purchase your CBD oil from a reputable, honest, and trusted company. Not all companies or CBD products are the same! Here’s how you can find a good CBD company to purchase from:

  • Pick a company that performs third-party testing on their products and provides the test results. If you cannot access the test results, you can’t know what is really in your bottle of CBD oil.
  • Do not pick a company that only one person recommends or that presents claims that seem too good to be true. Unfortunately, the CBD industry is largely unregulated, which means that a lot of companies can make exaggerated claims.
  • Do your own research and pick a company that you feel comfortable with. Not everyone is going to like the same company, so pick one that meets your expectations and fits what you are looking for.

Find Your Right CBD Dosage

Once you’ve found the right product for your needs, it is time to find your right CBD dosage. Everyone’s dosage is going to be different, but a general rule of thumb is to start low and work your way up. Start with half of a dropper as your dose for one week. If you still have not noticed any of the effects or benefits you are looking for, bump your dosage up half a dropper each week until you begin to notice an effect. The maximum CBD dosage is two droppers twice a day.

Starting your CBD journey doesn’t have to be a challenge. With these tips, you can find the right company, the right oil, and the right dosage for you to experience the full benefits of CBD.
